It wasn’t that long ago I featured a belly shoot I did with Shelley. When she contacted me to photograph the baby – I was thrilled! The best part was that I got to get at this little one while he was still under 2 weeks old! The first two weeks is my favorite time to photograph the little newbies, because they’re still in that little ball from being in the womb. This little guy actually loved the sound of the camera shutter click….something about it seamed to sooth him. Hmmm, perhaps we have another Hollywood Natural (:

When we were contacted by Brandon Kidd to bring our Zany-ness to his wedding celebration – well, we were flattered. Flattered to be considered for the job and flattered to be working alongside an amazing cast of folks that make this industry such a fun and dynamic space to be performing in. I’m just going to run through the quick list. I think we’ve mentioned Drew a few times already – but in case you didn’t catch it … he’s our favorite go-to if you want a stylish video crafted of your wedding. The name of his company is Shady Tree Films. Eva Chiou is a new friend of ours, she’s responsible for coordinating this beautiful event. You can reserve Eva for your own event by visiting her website at Red Velvet Occasions. I think it’s also important to mention that Eva is also the face behind the magazine Utterly Engaged. We’re working on a fun project with UE, we can’t wait to show it to you with next month’s Men’s Issue. Um, Lauryl Lane – completely blew me away with her creative floral designs…..something like I’ve never seen before actually. If you want to see what I’m talking about – hop on over to Jasmine Star’s website and check out her coverage of the whole event.

I think that it’s hard to go without noticing the amazing backdrop that Brandon constructed to match theme of his wedding. Bravo Brandon – BRAVo! Such creativity was brought to the table at this event. If you’d like to see more about how B built the backdrop, he talks about it here.

Finally, I’d like to congratulate Kristin and Brandon – even in the extremely short amount of time we had to work with them – it is evident that these are two EXTRAORDINARY people who were clearly put on this earth to find each other and share their love.

Writing for me does not come easy. Truth be told, my posts on this blog would be much more frequent if all I had to do is post the pictures. It’s the writing part that I really fret about. When I was in college I got straight A’s in all of my English/Writing/Poetry classes. Somehow, I figured out that the teachers really liked it when I would start the first paragraph of every assignment, just talking about how much I really hated writing. Then somehow I would transition into the assignment and I would get a lettergrade of A. Haha, not trying to be braggy – it was something that always seamed so rediculous!  I think it always pissed my friends off too….this dilly-dally way of writing.

While I might hate writing but there are so many things I love about Kristin and Kurt. First, the obvious, they came to us with a wedding they were planing at the The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. There are a number of reason’s why they chose the Parker (location, attentive staff, impeccable grounds, the list goes on) but perhaps the main reason is that K&K are fellow Adler Enthusiasts. Before we even started, we were a match made in heaven. If you don’t know who Jonathan Adler is, you can get caught up here.

As we got to know Kristin and Kurt, an instant friendship was formed. We immediately respected them for the success they’ve created in each of their businesses …. and found common ground with the way they’ve maintained their long-distance relationship, just as Tony and I did in our first years together. There is something so kind and genuine about Kristin and Kurt, spending the day surrounded by their friends and family as they took their vows was just such a  privilege for us.  Congratulations K+K, we’re so honored to have captured your wedding. What a fun day! (:

Double Bonus Points were given to K&K for picking such a rad group of folks to work with. A special shout to our new friends – Patty at the Parker (contact her for more info on planning your wedding at this fabulous estate), the fabulous Joey of Artisan Events who was responsible for the Event Styling, Floral Design and Every Single Detail of the Day while  April (The Bride and I) coordinated day of….you two are a fabulous duo and we hope to work together again in the near future. Cheers!
