Meet Jennifer and Tony. We’ve never had a client with the same name before. Tony Lee and Tony Z. In latin-speaking countries they call this TOCAYO….translation: two people who share the same name. So what up, Tocayo?
John and Nadine live in the City…but they chose to get married in the Country. In the place where they make the wine….MURPHYS! We love all couples who choose to get married in Murphys because that’s where we got married too (:
A big white tent was erected on Nadine’s parents property and a wonderful celebration took place! The wedding coordinator was Paige Galla of Paige One Events….who also happens to be our very favorite wedding coordinator. Catering by Karen Henderson who also catered our wedding (:
How cute are the cakes by Karen of Lila and Sage? I mentioned her in the post just below this one….because she was the caterer for our wedding!
She also catered the last wedding we photographed in Murphys. She made 10 CAKES for Nadine and John’s big day. She has lots of yummy flavors….if you’re looking to get married in the Calaveras County Wine country, you HAVE TO CONTACT Karen…of Lila and Sage.
This past weekend marked a very important day for Tony and me….one year ago at this time we had just concluded all of the planning and the guests and the emotions that go along with having a wedding. I remember feeling that deflated feeling when I had to say goodbye to all of our special people who had come to support us in the tiny town of Murphys. It was OUR WEDDING and it seams like it happened a million moons ago. But at the same time – we’re in awe that we’ve come through an entire year as husband and wife already. Especially since I had only done the post-processing on about 10 of the images until today!!!! This is one of the down-sides to being a full-time photographer – your personal projects are always last in line!
Well, since I’m a little behind on our 365 project – I thought I’d take the opportunity to play catch-up and post the story of our wedding (which is something I’ve been meaning to do for the last year). I want to thank our Photographer, Mike Graffinia for providing us with all of these beautiful images in a RAW format and allowing me to do my thing with them! Also, our caterer was the bomb….Karen Henderson of Lila and Sage. She made sure we were well-pampered through-out our planning process and on the day of the wedding. Thank you Karen for tending to every detail and also playing the part of coordinator throughout the process.
Our location was stunning at Stevenot Winery and continues to be a one of our favorite places to visit and buy wine whenever we find ourselves in Murphys (which is quite a bit now that we’re shooting weddings there a few times a year). A note to our parents, thank you so much for providing us with all of the resources to plan such a fabulous day! Without your love and support – we would have never gotten there!
Most of all to my Tony, you’re the best husband I could ever hope for! Thank you for giving everything you have to our relationship! And for making me laugh – even when I’m crying. And for inspiring that thing in me that makes me want to tell you I love you a million times a day. (gosh, I know that gets annoying) Most of all, thank you for believing in me and my photography. Without you, this blog and this businees wouldn’t exist. I love you so much! Happy Anniversary!
