Thanks for stopping by our blog. We are a husband and wife photography team based out of Los Angeles, California...shooting weddings and families all over the country. Photography and Travel are our passion!
Take some time to poke around the blog. Get to know the people we capture through our lens . They are the Trendsetters. The Thrill-seekers. Rock Stars. Smart People. They are the people who light up the room, just by the simple act of being there. People with new ideas, zest for life! People who want to do things differently. The ones who aren't afraid to show the world exactly who they are. Mostly, these are the people who a have a lot of love in their heart... because at the end of the day - that's what really shines through in a photograph. People who come to us to capture their story, are the ones with a lot of SPARKLE, and we love them for that.
Also tune in here to check out our year-long collaboration: 365 days of Jill and Tony. Posting a picture of ourselves everyday is our way of providing insight into our lives through our love of photography. See what inspires us and be inspired.
Over the holidays we got ot do a rad photo shoot with Tony’s nieces, Alana and Sofia. Tony usually doesn’t shoot the family stuff with me – but of course we had to have him there since these were his girls!
We had an awesome afternoon shooting downtown SF. Most of these were taken in my favorite parking garage.
This year my mom came out to Los Angeles a few days before Christmas to celebrate with Tony and I. We woke up on the Sunday before Christmas and did everything just as if it really were Christmas morning. We opened gifts and made a fancy breakfast and lounged around all day drinking eggnog. Oh, the eggnog…I can’t seam to quit the stuff.
For Christmas I like to make something that can be prepared the night before. Because really….who wants to be in the kitchen when you can be hanging out by the tree? Last time I was at Jani’s house (my BFF), she made Paula Dean’s French Toast Casserole dish and SERVED IT TO US IN BED!!!!! I’ve never forgotten it! So I decided to make it for our Faux Christmas Morning. Served with fresh strawberries, it was sinful…super rich, also super duper easy to make. Thow everything together the day before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I wanted to pass along the recipe here. The only thing it could have used was a dollup of Crème Fraîche or Fresh Whipped Cream to chill out all that sweet.
Alot of you know my friend Alton on the Spot from New York City. He’s always reinventing himself in new and fun ways! This holiday season he decided to become an award-winning Gift Wrapper as well as a highly downloaded Rapper…. About Gift Wrapping. Very Clever Mr. Alton! Well, all that self-promotion is really working…I can’t get this stupid song out of my head! It’s almost more hilarious than the rap cat.
Try playing this song as you wrap those last few gifts today – it will really put you in the mood…..and who said white guys can’t rap?
Have you ever heard a name as cool as Vu Bui? I mean, it just rolls off the tongue so easy – you could actually say it five times really fast if you wanted to. Go ahead, try it……
This week Tony and I were totally lucky to be able to attend THE BUI BROTHERS (oh ya, there’s two of them!) Workshop about video blogging. Well, they actually schooled us in a whole load of stuff related to the internets and social media and connecting with you….my audience.
I’m stlil a little amazed at how we got these guys to unload 6 hours worth of knowledge AND buy us lunch …all for the cost of a smile. Whoever says that LA sucks must be spending too much time at the office. This town is full of really wonderful people who want to see you succeed at doing something more creative! Have I mentioned that I love it here?
If you have the opportunity to attend one of the BUI BROTHERS WORKSHOPS….DO IT!!! These guys are REALLY SMART and HIGHLY ENTERTAINING….if I had a reality show to find my new BFF, Lan And Vu Bui would win for sure! Thank you guys for such an AWESOME day.
p.s. I’m posting the test video that we spliced together to demonstrate how it’s done. It’s not meant to be fancy….or even very meaningful….
