When we were contacted by Brandon Kidd to bring our Zany-ness to his wedding celebration – well, we were flattered. Flattered to be considered for the job and flattered to be working alongside an amazing cast of folks that make this industry such a fun and dynamic space to be performing in. I’m just going to run through the quick list. I think we’ve mentioned Drew a few times already – but in case you didn’t catch it … he’s our favorite go-to if you want a stylish video crafted of your wedding. The name of his company is Shady Tree Films. Eva Chiou is a new friend of ours, she’s responsible for coordinating this beautiful event. You can reserve Eva for your own event by visiting her website at Red Velvet Occasions. I think it’s also important to mention that Eva is also the face behind the magazine Utterly Engaged. We’re working on a fun project with UE, we can’t wait to show it to you with next month’s Men’s Issue. Um, Lauryl Lane – completely blew me away with her creative floral designs…..something like I’ve never seen before actually. If you want to see what I’m talking about – hop on over to Jasmine Star’s website and check out her coverage of the whole event.

Most of all I’d like to congratulate Kristin and Brandon – even in the extremely short amount of time we had to work with them – it is evident that these are two EXTRAORDINARY people who were clearly put on this earth to find each other and share their love.

Writing for me does not come easy. Truth be told, my posts on this blog would be much more frequent if all I had to do is post the pictures. It’s the writing part that I really fret about. When I was in college I got straight A’s in all of my English/Writing/Poetry classes. Somehow, I figured out that the teachers really liked it when I would start the first paragraph of every assignment, just talking about how much I really hated writing. Then somehow I would transition into the assignment and I would get a lettergrade of A. Haha, not trying to be braggy – it was something that always seamed so rediculous!  I think it always pissed my friends off too….this dilly-dally way of writing.

While I might hate writing but there are so many things I love about Kristin and Kurt. First, the obvious, they came to us with a wedding they were planing at the The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. There are a number of reason’s why they chose the Parker (location, attentive staff, impeccable grounds, the list goes on) but perhaps the main reason is that K&K are fellow Adler Enthusiasts. Before we even started, we were a match made in heaven. If you don’t know who Jonathan Adler is, you can get caught up here.

As we got to know Kristin and Kurt, an instant friendship was formed. We immediately respected them for the success they’ve created in each of their businesses …. and found common ground with the way they’ve maintained their long-distance relationship, just as Tony and I did in our first years together. There is something so kind and genuine about Kristin and Kurt, spending the day surrounded by their friends and family as they took their vows was just such a  privilege for us.  Congratulations K+K, we’re so honored to have captured your wedding. What a fun day! (:

Double Bonus Points were given to K&K for picking such a rad group of folks to work with. A special shout to our new friends – Patty at the Parker (contact her for more info on planning your wedding at this fabulous estate), the fabulous Joey of Artisan Events who was responsible for the Event Styling, Floral Design and Every Single Detail of the Day while  April (The Bride and I) coordinated day of….you two are a fabulous duo and we hope to work together again in the near future. Cheers!

I was just sent this precious little spot from a new magazine that I just LOVE…. Get Married Magazine. You have to check it out – it’s kind of like Domino for the Bride-To-Be. Have I mentioned how much I miss my Domino? Anyway – we’re thrilled that our images were used for the upcoming Spring 2010 issue (now that’s some fabulous fashion forecasting). And we’re always happy to be featured alongside HostessWithTheMostess.com.

jani: I how I miss my Domino, too. I blame you. If you hadn't turned me on to it, I would not feel so abandoned. Love the pictures. What day are you on?

We were so honored to be chosen to Photograph the Baby Shower for Television Scrub’s star, Judy Reyes at the Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. The ‘Berry Sweet’ Themed event was styled by Jennifer Sbranti (Hostess With The Mostess Website and Blog) and sponsored by Pregnancy Magazine and The Hot Mom’s Club.
The Shower was an intimate co-ed brunch that took place in a stylish setting overlooking the beach. Guests enjoyed Egg and Cheese Frittata, Strawberry Scones with Creme Fraiche and Colorful Berry-Flavored Mock-tails. Following the pink and red theme, dessert included Red Velvet Cupcakes by Whitne Burke (but of course!) and color themed Candies from beautifully displayed Apothecary Jars.
Judy surprised her guests with amazing gift bags worth over $400 from Jewels and Pinstripes….what a fun job those girls must have – making celebrity gift bags all day long for VIP parties!

Judy has since welocomed her “Berry Sweet” Baby Girl to the World – Leila Rey Valencia – a new addition to the Sacred Heart Hospitol. Haha.Judy_Reyes_Baby_ShowerJudy_Reyes_Baby_ShowerJudy_Reyes_Baby_ShowerJudy_Reyes_Baby_ShowerJudy_Reyes_Baby_Shower

paige galla: What a classy, sassy baby shower! I love the colors and the abundance of gorgeous details. Jill and Tony, your shots are crisp, clear, creative and so sharp! Stunning job, as usual!

Here’s is another small batch of smokin’ images from Palm Springs…this time from ROMNEY! He is part of a super hot videography team. If you are looking for a videographer for your wedding – you have to check out the guys at Shade Tree Films. It’s seriously hard to find moving picture wedding clips that don’t contain even one once of cheese – these guys really know their sh*t. Pardon my language – but I really like their stuff.  Stunning images Romney, thanks for sending them over! Because our project needs all the help it can get (: ~J

I’d like to take a moment to re-introduce to you…a man that has appeared as a two-time guest photographer in our 365 project…Roger Ellsworth!!!! Remember the pictures of us on the train-tracks? Roger and his wife were responsible for that shot….(which hangs in canvas at our front door).  Now I’m in love with this picture that THE ROG painted of Tony during their recent DUDES TRIP to Palm Springs.  A dudes trip to Palm Springs you might ask? Tell me more! Oh, hang onto your pants. We promise to get to more detail.  A teaser for now….photographed at The Ace Hotel. Thanks Rog, for kickin’ this over – it’s awesome  (: ~J

Shelley found me about 2 months ago and insisted on having her belly shots done BEFORE Thanksgiving and all of the holiday feasting began. She was convinced that she was going to swell up at any moment. Embarking on her 8th month in these photos, I have a feeling Shelley stayed just as cute up until the day of her delivery as she was on the day we captured these bubbly images of her.

I love photographing pregnant women. My preference is to photograph in the 8th month – the camera likes how round the belly is….you really get the full effect. And I get the full effect of a mother who has endured 8 long months, she’s about to pop, and she’s finally to the part where she’s planning all the details of the birth. I love to dish with them about all the details. How bad their back hurts – how great their husband has been – what kinds of food they crave – how cool it is when the baby flips around – how fat they feel…haha.  The whole thing is always a really special experience for me – knowing one day that I’ll be a mom too.  It’s like doing research.

I got word just days ago that Shelley gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Stay tuned for pictures from our follow-up newborn sitting! ~J

jani: absolutely breathtaking, Jill.

Culling through our wedding from last weekend, Tony came upon this 365 G E M . This was one of those passing shots, just testing the light in a location. Oh I love how ghostly it is.  Mr. Parker’s (at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs) is a dark and enchanting place. It’s so dark in there, they actually give you flashlights to see the menu.  Bwah haha! ~J

Jill and Natalie’s friendship is one of a Classic Facebook re-introduction story. They grew up together in Phoenix, AZ and were even part of the same Brownie Troop: 142. As sometimes happens, they lost touch over the years. Enter:  Modern Technology and FACEBOOK to reunite two old friends. They have now worked together on a few different jobs for Pregnancy Magazine, (Natalie plans celebrity baby showers for a living).  I know Jill had a great time photographing the Klein Family down on Abbott Kinney a few weeks back…. and judging from the pictures Natalie and her family had fun too. I just sit here typing happy that the two of them are back in touch. ~T
